Barcode Stock Control System

This system is aimed at the smaller ink user who largely buys in mad-up ink from his supplier.  At the end of each week, the stock situation is entered by simply scanning the barcodes of all tubs of ink in the store.  This information is then relayed to a PC which sends it on to the ink supplier via the Internet.  The ink supplier then has an accurate summary of the ink store situation at each of his customers.

The system comprises:

The process is then:

  1. Ink user scans the barcode on each tub of ink
  2. User places handheld computer in the cradle
  3. The stock information is then automatically read by the PC
  4. The PC then automatically dials up our internet server and uploads the stock data
  5. The ink company user's PC downloads this information as required

The ink company PC can then produce various reports showing current ink stock levels, re-order amounts, historical data etc.
